Over three years ago, a street lighting modernization project was implemented in Donets (Kharkiv region). So why are we talking about it now? Because the project has officially reached its payback point and has been generating budget savings for over two months thanks to reduced electricity bills and no need to purchase or dispose of mercury lamps.
Ukrainian manufacturer Electronic Technologies of Ukraine LLC supplied custom-designed LEDsvit street luminaires – models ALEYA LED KU 60W / 850-02 SH and 850-03 SH – tailored to the customer’s needs.
Outdated 125W mercury lamps (5,900 lm) were replaced with modern LEDsvit ALEYA luminaires delivering 7,000 lm. Lighting calculations using DIAlux software confirmed an average illuminance of 8 lux – significantly higher than before.
Despite the common concern about the initial cost of LEDs, technical and economic evaluations predicted full payback in under three years – which has now been achieved. Since installation, no complaints have been reported, and the LEDsvit fixtures have enhanced safety, visibility, and energy efficiency, cutting power consumption by 50–75%.
LEDsvit luminaires use high-quality components, including Seoul LEDs (Korea), durable polycarbonate optics, and Mean Well drivers (Taiwan), ensuring long service life, flicker-free operation, and reliable performance even in harsh weather conditions.
